Aaron's Clip

Sean's Clip

Tickets $5

July 3-4 (Friday/Saturday)

"Clubs and Colleges"
"Next Big Star"

About Aaron Powell:

From Chicago, IL Aaron at a young age decided he was going to become just like his heroes Bill Cosby and Freddy Prinze and was going to become a stand up comedian. Always being the one who could find something funny out of everything and nothing he started his comedy career like almost all of the greats have, as the class clown.

As he got older, Aaron was dared to sign up for an open mic while he was in college. Not being one to turn down a dare Aaron signed up, got invited to perform and the rest is history in the making. Having worked with comedy legends such as Gilbert Gottfried and Judy Tenuta to television stars such as Hal Sparks, Stuttering John Melendez and Carlos Alazraqui, the sky seems to be the limit for this young up and coming sensation. A show that is not to be missed.

His unique blend of music, pop culture and just things that make him angry are sure to keep you laughing and thinking about the things that make you go hmmm. Be there or be square.

About Sean Dillin:

Sean is known as one of the finest improvisers in comedy. He uses this skill to interact with the audience - spontaneously creating jokes specific to any audience. Sean has a rare ability to play off the crowd. He is able to discover things about audience members and create an interactive show that leaves everyone feeling like they were included in a part of something unforgettable. When you see Sean Dillin, you're not just getting a recital of jokes, you're getting a personal, customized show each and every time! Improvises with a crowd like a Jazz musician....swinging in unexpected directions without a plan, without a net! His act is lively, current, and "gut-busting".

Sean’s versatility, the ability to make adjustments on the spot and great improvisational skills, makes his act "a must see". Sometimes audience members feel like they are personally being roasted, but it's all in good fun. Sean Dillins' act is a nonstop, fast-paced tornado of interactive comedy that has to be experienced to be believed. Once he whips the audience into a comedy frenzy, no other comic dares perform after him. He has appeared on America's Funniest People, "Next Big Star" and featured on "XM Radio". He was featured as a finalist and winner on the television show, America’s Funniest People, where ABC television producer Stephanie Keane sited him as,” another Robin Williams”. It’s non-stop laughter from beginning to end, which is why he has proven himself time and again to be a “showstopper”. When audiences see Sean for the first time they are given only one piece of advice, HOLD ON.

He's shared the stage with Louie Anderson, Gilbert Gottfried, Patty Loveless, Belinda Carlisle, Loretta Lynn, The Doobie Brothers, Rick Springfield, K.C. and the Sunshine band, Victoria Jackson and more. He has performed on film with such stars as Jane Seymour, Patrick Duffy, Don Ameche, Stacy Keache, John O’Hurley (Mr. Peterman from Seinfeld) and more. He was also a finalist on the Star Search spin-off, “Ed McMahon’s Next Big Star”.

** SPECIAL EVENT **

ROB LITTLE

Tickets $12 - $15

JULY 17-18 (Friday and Saturday)

"Comedy Central"
"Best Damn Sports Show"
"FOX TV"

Watch Rob in action, and you'll agree that he is one of the very best stand-up comedians in the country. A sketch comedy player on the Fox Sports Net Show, "The Best Damn Sports Show Period" and "Last Call with Carson Daly," Little uses his training from the world famous Second City Comedy Club to create routines that are inventive, funny, spontaneous, and completely unique. He headlines clubs and colleges all over the country, has appeared in national television commercials and on such shows as "Strictly Sex with Dr. Drew," Comedy Central's "Distraction," Fox News and SiTV's "Latino Laugh Festival." He also earned a role on the CBS network summer hit series, "Fire me Please." Rob's recently released comedy CD, "Born 20 Inches Long," is another testament to his talent and status as a comedic force.

Having established himself as one of the funniest, most progressive, new comedians in the country, it's easy to understand why entertainment bookers call him "The Future of comedy with more contagious energy than the Energizer Bunny." The Detroit Free press selected him as Michigan's "Best up and Coming Comedian," and he earned the title of "finalist" in both the Seattle and San Francisco International Comedy Competitions. Rob was also selected as a feature performer at the Chicago Comedy Festival along with the Boston Comedy and Movie Festival.

Don't let the "Little" name fool you. Little is BIG! But that has never slowed him down. "Yeah, I'm big, and all my relatives are too. Heck, we just got our family portrait done by aerial photography. And there are only three of us." The truth is, Rob is big in more ways than one. With a grin on his face, a gleam in his eye, and a passion for comedy that is larger than life, he's the biggest thing to happen to comedy in a long, long time.

The ORIGINAL Gay Comedy Night
Presents...
JADE ESTEBAN ESTRADA

Tickets $15

July 23 (Thursday)

"NBC"
"Comedy Central"
"International singer and comedian"

NBC News calls him "America's Prince of Pride". Critics around the world have compared him to "a cross between Andy Warhol and Billy Graham." Minneapolis-St. Paul Magazine calls him "one of the finest solo theatre artists of the 21st century." He's been seen in feature films, on Comedy Central's "The Graham Norton Effect," "In the Life" on PBS, "Friday Night Lights" and "30 Rock" on NBC and has headlined concerts, theatres and comedy clubs around the world. Meet "master entertainer" Jade Esteban Estrada.

As a singer, Genre Magazine calls him “the most exciting Latin pop artist ever to emerge onto the music scene”. He has performed in seven languages and in 33 countries to date and his hypnotic music can be heard on the Golden Globe and Emmy award-winning police drama "The Shield" on FX. The Advocate calls him "exquisite."

The Estrella award-winning singer was born and raised in the Tejano music capital of the world, San Antonio, Texas. The son of a U.S. Army officer, Estrada won a scholarship to the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York and sharpened his knowledge of his chosen profession. He studied dance (alongside Jennifer Lopez) with Slam, the lead dancer from Madonna's Blonde Ambition Tour among other notable teachers of the era.

In 1994, he took home the prize for the Funniest Amateur Comic in New York at Stand-Up New York. He made his living as a choreographer by day (a skill that came very naturally to him) and performed as a singer, dancer, actor, writer and go-go boy by night. His main concern during this period was getting from one show to the next.

He began his pop music career as a member of the three-member hip-hop group The Model Citizens (with Mario Vasquez of "American Idol" fame). The group enjoyed a notable success, however, after several heated debates over who the lead singer was, Estrada ceremoniously left the group for Europe to pursue a solo career.

In September 2000, he opened the doors to his own label and released his long-awaited debut album "Angel" (Vicarious) in February 2001 and for the next three years toured the globe extensively to impressive reviews including a headlining appearance at Europride in Vienna and several other high-profile Latin music events. He has shared the stage with Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Ricky Martin, Margaret Cho, RuPaul, Jody Watley, and Jimmy Somerville and countless other fabulous stars. In 2002, Estrada lent his golden voice to the "Being Out Rocks" (Centaur) compilation CD where he joined such artists as Cyndi Lauper, Sarah McLachlan and Taylor Dayne and was awarded the Premio Estrella at the 9th Annual Encuentro Awards in Miami for outstanding visibility and achievement in the entertainment industry. Out Magazine christened him "the first gay Latin star."

Estrada turned his attention to the solo theatre format in 2002 with the debut of his wildly popular one-man show "ICONS: The Lesbian and Gay History of the World, Vol. 1" which also toured extensively. His sequel "ICONS: The Lesbian and Gay History of the World, Vol. 2" won the 2004 Audience Favorite Award in Solo Performance at the Columbus National Gay and Lesbian Theatre Festival in September 2004 and garnished several other awards. In 2006, he debuted "ICONS: The Lesbian and Gay History of the World, Vol. 3" and took home awards for Best Solo Performance and Best Original Music. He is also the man behind the hit Latin show "Tortilla Heaven" written by his sister Celeste Angela Estrada and directed by his brother David Miguel Estrada of Saturday Night Live fame.

Through his work in his artistic and political endeavors, Jade Esteban Estrada is fast becoming one of the world's most ground breaking personalities.

Kenny Kane

Tickets $10-$12

July 24-25 (Friday/Saturday)

"Comedy Clubs across the country"

Combining the frenetic pace of Robin Williams, the absurdity of Steve Martin and the physicality of Jim Carrey, Kenny Kane fuses stand up, sketch comedy, film shorts, boxer shorts and local celebrities in one action packed show.

Kane, a multi-dimensional performer draws from his background as a black belt, hip-hop dancer, soccer player and track athlete to create an extremely high-energy and physical show. Kenny's unequivocal force is balanced by authentic stories about family, relationships, teaching children, and motivational speaking. After watching a recent performance, an audience member said, "Wow! I'm out of breath and I was sitting! Not only was that hilarious, it was original and he actually made me think."

Kane's versatile comic style has won the favor of many of comedy's most influential professionals. The highly respected Budd Friedman (Founder of the world famous Improv, and producer of "Evening at the Improv") has given Kenny his own valued endorsement by making him a regular in Las Vegas at the Improv at Harrah's. Brad Sherwood ("Drew Carey Show", "Tonight Show," "Who's Line Is It Anyway") says, "Kenny Kane is a cross between Robin Williams and Steve Martin," and thirty-year comedy vet Denny Johnston ("Tonight Show," LA Laugh Off winner) says Kane is "a mix of Jim Carrey and Martin Short."

In addition to being a regular in Vegas and touring the United States, Kane has performed for our troops in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan; has been heard by millions of listeners on the nationally syndicated Bob & Tom Show; and was seen regularly as host, stand up, and sketch comedian on UPN's "Seriously Unusual Television". Kenny Kane is undoubtedly an up and comer that is rapidly gaining the attention of Hollwood elite. So don't be surprised if you see some of the work he does on stage show up on his own sit-com in the near future…
